I call it a sunlight therapy

“Don’t be ashamed to weep; ’tis right to grieve. Tears are only water, and flowers, trees, and fruit cannot grow without water. But there must be sunlight also. A wounded heart will heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our lost ones is sealed inside to comfort us.”
― Brian Jacques, Taggerung

The reason why I often emphasize the need for us, never to miss the morning sun is, because I have personally experienced depression for not going out for years, when I left my job as a public school teacher years ago, but started noticing remarkable changes after getting some sunlight every morning, since I moved to my new place now, and this was even long before I have learned about “serotonin”_ you know this compound known to be connected with boosting our mood? and that without enough sun exposure, its level will be very low? I’m quite sure you’ve heard about this once.

Anyway, I did not believe this at first, but since I took devoting some time under the sun every morning seriously, which I usually do now while having my morning coffee, reading news and/or blogs online? I’ve been really happier. Not in a way like you would hear or see me laughing all the time? But I just really love how the way my mind is responding to difficult situations now, something I have been missing for so long.

I know it can be very tempting to sleep in when you’re working from home, but if you have been feeling strangely down lately, perhaps you should give sunlight a try?
